Baeclast is a podcast originally organized by two Twitch streamers: Chitus’ Apex lover RaizQT and Trapper extraordinaire TarkeCat. Typically the podcast runs for 2-4 hours and 3-5 members of the Path of Exile community join for the duration. The podcast has no set schedule–with upwards of 6 weeks sometimes passing between episodes during league downtime. Occasionally, a Path of Exile staffer will join the show to offer organizational or development insight pertaining to the active league and/or to promote upcoming leagues or releases (such as pathofexile2.com).
The name Baeclast was pitched by self-proclaimed rambler ItsYoji (of league announcement “Actual Trailer” parody fame) after ending his own, short-lived HCNT podcast. Other than ItsYoji, there have been a bevy of regular guests such as ZiggyD, Nugiyen, CuteDog, Karvarousku, Octavian0, RaizQT, et. al.
Follwing the 3.19 league announcement, the Baeclast lineup receives a refresher with Grimro & CaptainLance9 officially stepping up for two lost Lost Ark gamers. Both new additions are YouTube content fashionistas with Grimro’s reputation preceding as an eminent economic zoomer and softcore exemplar. CaptainLance9 is a dad gamer with plenty of podcast experience–having made recent, well-versed appearances on Fated Connections and TRJH’s Tell Us About episode 8 interview. CaptainLance9 has a penchant for perfecting & promoting practical every-exile builds for the proletariat.
Baeclast podcasts usually concentrate on covering topics within the Path of Exile scene, although guests are encouraged to regale details of any game that has occupied their recent attention. Quite often meta-topics of the podcast emerge as follows: Reddit complaints go brrrr, Path of Exile 2 will fix that for sure, & last (and most importantly) Derrok makes incredible hideouts.
